When a 6-ton six tanker is enough
A 6-ton tanker — a “six” in the market — is the smallest size we schedule regularly in tight Riyadh streets. It covers a small tank or a partial fill, and it enters where 18 or 32 tons cannot. If the tank is larger than one load, we either repeat the six or step up from the fleet page.
What 6 tons means on the job
The ton here is a market operating unit, not a lab equation. Think roughly six thousand litres per drop, with a little variance in how full the bowser is. Do not size a project on a brochure number; size it on your tank and trip count.
A six is not “weak”. It is the right truck when the entrance is tighter than a large tanker, or when you need a limited quantity today rather than filling a project tank.
When a 6-ton tanker is enough
- A villa or floor with a small ground tank, or a partial roof fill.
- A rest house after a weekend, not a huge tank under pressure.
- An internal street, a sharp turn, or a stand that cannot take an 18-ton truck.
- An urgent limited quantity while the tank is not empty.
When a six is not enough on its own
| Situation | Why 6 tons is tight | Practical alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Large ground tank on a newer villa | One drop will not fill it | 18 tons if it fits, or two sixes |
| Daily construction or temporary irrigation | Repeats raise cost and congestion | 12 or 18 tons by gate width |
| Compound or several tanks | You need a schedule | A supply contract |
| Open truck access and turning space | A six works but is a poor fit for volume | 18 or 32 tons after we confirm |
Six vs 12, 18 and 32
12 tons sits in the middle: rest houses and a mid-size tank with a usable entrance. 18 tons is the usual pick for homes and projects when the street allows — see when you need 18 tons. 32 tons is for wide sites and a truck gate; we do not send it down a villa alley.
The decision is not “bigger is better”. It is: volume needed today × whether the tanker can enter × whether repeating a six is cheaper than one large drop.
